These dye sublimation digital photo prints are collaged together with other images, using my reverse applique process in conjunction with collapse-quilting to manipulate the surfaces into deep texture.
In my work over the years I've worked primarily in abstraction, but alluded to or touched on representational imagery. With this new body of work, I'm starting with highly representational photographic images and obscuring and deconstructing them toward or into abstraction.
